David Thom Band with Don Rigsby  Rebel Records recording artist Don Rigsby will join local bluegrass luminary David Thom and his band for a night of classic and contemporary bluegrass at the Freight and Salvage to help kick off the 2013 San Francisco Bluegrass and Old-time Festival. Please join us for an unforgettable night of music! Don and David will start the show in the old brother duet style, followed by bluegrass that will feature Don on lead and harmony singing, as well as mandolin and fiddle.

David Thom met Don Rigsby while working with Bill Evans’ Flatt and Scruggs Tribute Band in January of 2012. The David Thom Band then had the pleasure of working with Don the following summer in Michigan and Kentucky, and they had so much fun that they’re reuniting to do it again!

Rigsby, who was with the Lonesome River Band as well as J.D. Crowe and the New South, and the supergroup Longview, is one of Ricky Skaggs’ cousins, and you can hear it in his singing and playing.
