The Whisky Richards, Champagne of Honky-Tonk. These six young, talented musicians came together through the San Francisco bluegrass scene and emerged with a fresh, energetic and exciting new sound for California alt-country and Americana music. They blend tradition with innovation in their mix of creative original music and fresh takes on classic country, bluegrass, and old-time tunes. Telecaster twang, fiery fiddle, rowdy-as-hell harp, fine harmonies, and driving rhythm set the Whisky Richards apart from the pack — these honky-tonkers will get your boots stompin’ and your heart pounding! The Whisky Richards features J. Logan Barrier (drums), Chase Christie (guitar, vocals), Joe Kenny (bass), Katy Rexford (fiddle, vocals), Adam Roszkiewicz (Telecaster), and Sean Tracey (harmonica).

San Francisco based Misisipi Rider is a folk pop quartet featuring rich four-part vocal harmonies, clever songwriting, and a tight, lively stage show. Fiddler Katy Rexford, ‘Misisipi’ Mike Wolf and Cree Reiter on guitars, and bassist Doug Blumer create original music that’s an infectious mix of joy and pathos, both live and on CDs–like their new “Live in the Studio,” a track from which (“The Voice of Johnny Cash”) was recently selected as one of the 20 Best Songs of 2009 by KALX radio.

Lady A & Her Heel Draggersare a San Francisco based Western Swing band formed by members of several prominent area roots Americana groups, including members of the Mad Cow String Band, Five Dollar Suit, and the Real Sippin’ Whiskeys. They focus on the sounds of the classic era of Western Swing and Honky Tonk music, when country music still swung hard and had more than three chords. This is high-energy music to keep our fans dancing and drinking. The band features vintage steel guitar, accordion, fiddle, upright bass, guitar, drums, and of course, the beautiful and powerful voice of Lady A belting the tunes out front.

Yolo County-based band West Nile Ramblers combines influences from western swing, country, and rock into a style they call Western Garage. Whether performing powerful original songs or tasteful renditions of old favorites, the band inspires audiences to dance and sing along. Their shows feature hot fiddle chops, ripping guitar leads, vocal harmonies, and a rhythm section that drives the sound home evenly balanced, and strong. Their powerful dynamics and musical presence will pull the audience out to the dance floor and keep them there for as long as you’ll let these guys play. …. On their debut album, “Honkabilly Western Garage,” the fellas employ their rough-and-tumble energy to execute exciting original tunes and put their spin on some old standards. In making their contribution to the Yolo sound, The West Nile Ramblers features members of the Mad Cow String Band, the Bottom Dwellers, and Belgian rock band K’s Choice. Together, The West Nile Ramblers present honest, hard-driving western garage at its finest.
