With driving rhythm, skillful picking, and soulful singing, High Country brings the energy and experience of six seasoned bluegrass professionals. For 40 years, High Country has toured and recorded extensively, has played many of the major U.S. and European bluegrass festivals and was the first West Coast band to play at Bill Monroe’s Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival. The band is Butch Waller(mandolin), Bob Waller (guitar), Larry Cohea (banjo), Jim Mintun (dobro), Tom Bekeny (fiddle), and Glenn Dauphin (bass).

Dark Hollow helped blaze a trail for the recent bluegrass revival in San Francisco, performing traditional favorites and original songs for more than seven years in the city’s trendy Mission District. Each band member has between fifteen and thirty-five years of experience playing bluegrass, and together they can really make an audience feel the bluegrass spirit. The Dark Hollow players are Mark Wardenburg (fiddle), John Kornhauser (guitar), Louise Mintun (standup bass), Larry Cohea (banjo), and Alan Bond (mandolin).
