11th Annual San Francisco Bluegrass & Old-Time Festival Feb 12-21
Marin Jamvitational

The Marin Jamvitational is an invitational bluegrass jam that features a different cast of hot pickers and great singers every month. Surprise guests often drop in, making the Jamvitational an adventure as much as a performance. The Jamvitational occurs on the third Tuesday of the month at the Whipper Snapper from 7:30 to 9:30. There is no door charge.

For this special SFBOT edition of the Jamvitational, we feature musicians who have played San Francisco Bay Area stages and festivals all over Northern California for years, in more than 25 bands between them.

Who are these bluegrass luminaries? Bruce Campbell plays wicked good bass and sings truly haunting minor key melodies. Dan Large brings high energy and good humor to every performance, while managing to knock out some of the most intricate, exciting mandolin lines you’re likely to hear anywhere. Deirdre Donovan is delighted to be the Jamvitational facilitator and provides the jam enthusiasm quota while singing and playing guitar. Tom Lucas graces the group with his fiddle playing and sardonically witty songs. "Whisky Brother" Craig Fletcher plays banjo, and local consumer protection crusader Joe Ridout plays guitar.
