The Earl Brothers
Cabin Fever
Homespun Rowdy

The Brokedown Opry @
The Hotel Utah Saloon, San Francisco

8 pm - $10
General admission. 21 and over.

This trio of hometown bands is presented by the Brokedown Opry, a weekly showcase of Americana music at the Hotel Utah Saloon.

Brokedown Opry regulars The Earl Brothers play, as they say, “traditional songs in the bluegrass style”, mixed with hard-edged originals that sound old as the coal mines of West Virginia. The band performed at last year’s CBA Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival. Bobby Earl Davis (banjo, vocals), Steve Pottier (mandolin, vocals), John McKelvy (guitar, vocals), Pat Campbell (bass, vocals).

For a while there in 2002, it seemed as if Cabin Fever was playing everywhere you looked. The band features Larry Chung on banjo and mandolin, Yvonne Walbroehl (The Warblers) on guitar, national fiddle champion Megan Lynch, and Steve Swan on bass.

Homespun Rowdy is a traditional, driving bluegrass band that performs a mix of bluegrass standards and original material. The band provides an upbeat, entertaining show featuring lots of vocal variety and plenty of hot picking. Recent appearances at the Bazaar Café, the Café International, and the Connecticut Yankee have been well received.
